PosIND and Bina Karya Launch Nusantara Logistics Hub at IKN
PosIND and PT Bina Karya (Persero) launched Nusantara Logistics Hub & Services in the Nusantara National Capital City (IKN) area on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The synergy between the two companies that has been stated in the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) includes operational cooperation (KSO) for Nusantara courier and logistics services.
PosIND President Director Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi said in his remarks that, in supporting the development process and the provision of long-term logistics services in the archipelago, Pos Indonesia synergized with Bina Karya by forming an operating cooperation, or KSO.
"This KSO will develop and strengthen the national supply chain through the construction of the Nusantara Logistics Hub in Nusantara Capital City. In addition to the Nusantara Capital City, this superhub can later become a link for trade flows between the Western Region of Indonesia and Eastern Indonesia," he explained.
The activity, which was attended by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, is a form of support for infrastructure development in the IKN Authority. Nusantara Logistics Hub in Nusantara is PosIND's effort to support Nusantara to become an IKN Superhub, which is an economic driver for East Kalimantan and a trigger to strengthen domestic value chains throughout eastern Indonesia and throughout Indonesia.
"In this KSO, PosIND has one of its main roles as a coordinator in preparing business models and operating models for the implementation of logistics activities at the IKN Authority," he also said.
As an initial stage, this operational cooperation will serve the logistics needs for the transportation of personal belongings of ASN, TNI, POLRI, BUMN employees, and private employees who move duties and head to the archipelago. Also the transportation of documents and goods belonging to ministries, institutions, and SOEs. As well as logistical support for Nusantara development construction workers.
According to him, PosIND wants to be an important part of the Nusantara development process and the provision of courier and logistics services for the citizens of the archipelago through gradual investment with an estimated total investment value of Rp 350 billion. The investment is focused on building a green logistics hub infrastructure supported by the latest technology, including delivery robots and drones, advanced robotic sorting machines, and the utilization of logistics operations using electric vehicles (EVs).
Meanwhile, President Director of Bina Karya Boyke P. Soebroto said that the cooperation with PosIND is able to coordinate marketing and sales activities for all target markets intensively and dedicatedly. Nusantara Logistics Hub facilities include cargo drones, EV autonomous work vehicles, green packaging, and supply chain monitoring systems
Meanwhile, the road map that has been determined by both parties includes a short-term work plan (2024–2029), which consists of transferring goods for ASN, TNI, Polri, and BUMN employees, transferring archival documents and state archives, and handling logistics projects and contracts.
The long-term work plan (2030–2045) includes the development of the Nusantara Green Logistics Hub, which includes the construction of container depots, climate control stations, bonded logistics centers, and others.
Also accompanying President Jokowi on the agenda were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and local officials.
