Maintain Stability of Food Prices Ahead of Ramadan, the Government Holds Cheap Food Market Operations at Thousands of Pos Indonesia Points

Jakarta, February 24, 2025 - Pos Indonesia plays an active role in supporting cheap food market operations to stabilize the prices of basic needs of the community ahead of the Fasting and National Religious Holidays (HBKN) - Eid al-Fitr 2025.
The launching of the cheap food market operation was centered at the Flora Post Office, Jalan Fatmawati, Jakarta, Monday, February 24, 2025. The ceremony also marked the implementation of cheap food market operations at thousands of points in Indonesia.
The cheap food market operation runs from Monday, February 24, 2025 to March 29, 2025. The five main commodities to be sold are Cooking Oil (Minyakita), Garlic, Consumption Sugar, Frozen Buffalo Meat, and Rice (SPHP Rice).
The food to be sold at the Post Office is provided by food SOEs, including Perum BULOG, PT RNI, PTPN, PT Berdikari, and PT PPI. The selling price of food is priced according to the HET and has been set by the Government in accordance with the Technical Guidelines for OP Implementation.
Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman said that in this cheap food market operation, his party synergizes with various parties so that the community can enjoy cheap and affordable food prices.
“This market operation is a strategic step to maintain price stability and food availability ahead of Ramadan and Idul Fitri. We appreciate PosIND's support in providing food distribution locations, so that people can easily obtain basic needs at affordable prices,” said Andi Amran Sulaiman.
This cheap food market operation is a follow-up to the Limited Coordination Meeting of the Coordinating Ministry for Food and the Coordination Meeting on the Availability of Basic Foodstuffs at the Ministry of Agriculture on February 19, 2025. At the meeting it was also stated that PosIND will provide OP locations in all PosIND offices in Indonesia.
President Director of PosIND, Faizal R. Djoemadi, emphasized that PosIND's involvement in this Market Operation is a form of commitment in supporting price stability and ensuring food availability for the community.
“As a company with an extensive network throughout Indonesia, PosIND is ready to contribute in ensuring that basic foodstuffs can be easily accessed by the community. We will utilize our infrastructure and logistics capabilities to support the smooth running of this Market Operation, so that people can get food at reasonable prices ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2025,” said Faizal R. Djoemadi.
According to Faizal, currently Pos Indonesia has around 4,800 networks throughout Indonesia. Supported by thousands of fleets and human resources, Pos Indonesia has repeatedly successfully supported the government's food distribution program.
Pos Indonesia hopes that with this Market Operation, price stability and food availability ahead of HBKN Fasting - Eid al-Fitr 2025 can be maintained, so that people can undergo worship and celebrations more calmly.
